Energy & Electrical Advisory · Lewes, DE
Best Energy Advisor is a Delaware-based consulting firm. We help commercial, industrial and institutional clients understand, audit and optimize their energy and electrical systems — then stand beside them through implementation.
NO SALES · NO COMMISSIONS · FIXED-FEE ENGAGEMENTS
Who we are
Best Energy Advisor was founded on a simple observation: most commercial and industrial energy decisions get made from gut feel and a stack of invoices. We bring measurement, engineering and a utility-agnostic view to those decisions.
We are a consulting and advisory company. We don't generate, sell or deliver electricity, and we don't install equipment. We analyze, recommend, and help you manage the contractors, engineers and utility programs that do the implementation — so the decisions are yours, on solid numbers.
More about the firm
Best Energy Advisor is an advisory and consulting firm. We are not a utility, electric cooperative, power supplier or installation contractor. We do not generate, transmit or supply electricity, and we do not perform construction or installation work. Our services consist of analysis, engineering consultation and project guidance — where implementation is needed, we coordinate with licensed professionals of your choosing.
What we do
01 / AUDIT
Walkthrough to full Level 3 audit. Thermal imaging, submeter review and a prioritized savings roadmap with payback math you can defend to a board.
02 / ELECTRICAL
Load studies, power factor correction, service and transformer capacity reviews, and backup power planning — before the utility makes the decision for you.
03 / SOLAR
PV sizing, interconnection pathway review and compensation economics, so you know what a system will actually return — not what a vendor claims.
04 / BILLING
Tariff and rate-class review, demand charge reduction and rider reconciliation. Some of the fastest paybacks in commercial real estate hide in the bill.
05 / INCENTIVES
State and utility program screening, application preparation and pre-investment review — documentation that gets approved the first time.
06 / MANAGEMENT
Submetering strategies, M&V plans per IPMVP, KPI dashboards and emissions baselining for ESG and sustainability reporting.
How an engagement runs
STEP 01
A short discovery call and site scope. You receive a fixed-fee proposal within five business days — full cost before any work begins.
STEP 02
On-site inspection, utility bill and submeter data collection, interviews with your operations team, and review of your electrical records.
STEP 03
A prioritized report: findings, payback estimates, risks and a clear recommended path — written in plain language, not a data dump.
STEP 04
We stay engaged through implementation: contractor coordination, progress review, and post-project verification that the savings actually landed.

Who we serve
Client feedback
They found demand charges we had accepted for years. The report paid for itself in the first quarter — and we didn't have to buy a single piece of equipment.
Clear, honest, and no upsell. They told us what NOT to do, which is exactly why we kept them on for phase two of the plant work.
The most thorough audit we've had in ten years. Their payback estimates have held up on every project we've completed since.
Common questions
No. Best Energy Advisor is a consulting and advisory firm. We don't generate, transmit, sell or deliver electricity, and we're not tied to any utility. That's the point — our advice has no commercial interest in what your utility, a solar vendor or an equipment supplier sells you.
No. We don't perform construction, installation or maintenance work. Where implementation is required, we help you scope it, compare bids and verify results — carried out by licensed contractors and engineers of your choosing.
Every engagement is quoted as a fixed fee, so you know the full cost before work begins. Most standard audits and bill reviews are scoped and quoted within five business days of a discovery call. There is no obligation until you sign an engagement letter.
Typically within two weeks of signing, depending on site access and data availability. A utility bill review can often begin remotely the same week you send invoices.
Yes. We regularly navigate state and utility incentive programs for Delaware and New Jersey facilities — including Delmarva Power, DUC and DE-EEA programs — handling eligibility screening, pre-investment review and application documentation.
Both. Bill analysis, rate optimization and feasibility screening can start entirely remotely with invoices and one-line diagrams. Site assessments — audits, thermal surveys, load verification — are scheduled on-site at your facility.
Start with a free 20-minute scoping call. You'll leave knowing exactly what we'd measure, what it would cost, and whether it's worth your time.
